C. Jack is an artist from Chicago, Illinois and working out of New York City. Currently, he an MFA Candidate In Photography from Parsons/The New School and received his BFA in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago. His Photographic work examines the Multiplicitous nature of the search for racial identity using photography as tool to engage in narratives rooted in the black diaspora as well as art history. His lens based practice incorporates an Afro-Pessimistic framework, utilizing elements of intentional redaction as a means of investigating the ongoing conversation of cultural appropriation. Chris’ work as co-founder of Pulse Theatre Chicago has been featured in Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, Forbes, ArtsIntegrity.org, Chicago Mag.
